An experienced Principal Investigator (PI) is needed to provide leadership, supervision, and accountability for government contract work in Salt Lake City, Utah. The PI will be the main interface with the federal contracting office representative. The PI will define and assist managing tasks to successful completion, provide science insight and direction, advise on technical approaches, outreach, user community support, specify and execute standards and protocols, maintain contract between government client and Innovim HQ, and manage staffing and budgets.

 

 

Candidate must have experience in environmental sciences, natural resources, and familiar applying geospatial technologies and remotely sensed data. Experience required working within a task order process, onsite with government and contract staff. Must be able to direct staff on time-sensitive work. Must have specific knowledge, skills and abilities in contract management and experience in identifying specific requirements to clarify work performance and work schedule described for specific Task Order(s).

 

Candidate must have 8+ years experience leading teams of scientists and technicians on geospatially related research and applications.

 

Candidate must have experience conducting research and applying data and technology in the environmental sciences. Candidate must have managed budgets, procurements, schedules, milestone and deliverables. Experience conducting relationships with vendors would be helpful.

 

Candidate must have excellent communication skills and an ability to manage customer expectations as needed. Candidate must exhibit proven abilities to propose, document, report and present project status, plans and outcomes. Must represent published papers and past performance in related work.

 

Ability to respond to changing priorities and administer multiple, simultaneous tasks is required.

 

A Masters or PhD degree in a related field or equivalent industry experience is required.

Position is full-time, on-site in Salt Lake City, Utah.
