BRIEF SUMMARY:
Innovim has an opening for a project manager to plan and conduct a systems engineering project at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. Position will entail schedule, staff and budget development, project monitoring, measurement and analysis, deliverables tracking, meeting and minutes preparation, client presentations and status reporting. This position will work directly with the client to identify, coordinate and evaluate project tasks and milestones, requirements definition, oversee change management process and other key components across multiple components, stakeholders and collaborating organizations. Much interaction with agency and international team members is required.
 
KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITES:
The successful candidate shall:
  • Quickly become technically adept on existing systems infrastructure
  • Meet with existing staff, customer and collaborators to conduct needs analysis
  • Construct a systems development plan
  • Develop, supervise and mentor project workforce
  • Execute project through all phases of the SDLC
  • Lead systems engineers in the development of specifications, design, development, testing and deployment
  • Ensure process fidelity within project implementations
  • Define and produce metrics to measure projects' success.
  • Evaluate and report metrics for all projects.
  • Author presentations to client and Innovim senior management on project progress and plans
  • Ensure deliverables meet w/ client expectations and committed requirements
  • Meet with clients frequently to evaluate project performance and monitor plan.
  • Integrate lessons learned into continual improvement process to enhance project procedures.
 
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's or higher
  • 7-10 years of industry experience
  • Managerial experience
  • PMP certification or methodologies is a plus
  • CMMI, ITIL or similar process improvement experience is a plus

  • Have strong analytical, abstraction, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must possess applied knowledge of the System Development Life Cycle.
  • Able to work efficiently under deadline pressure in an atmosphere of shifting priorities.
  • Able to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively with technical and non-technical Program Office staff members, contractors, senior staff and external entities.
  • Able to determine system development risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Able to translate client needs into sound technical solutions.
  • Able to evaluate contractor proposals for correct resourcing, technical soundness, and compliance with Government standards.
