Website Manager, position no. 201r

Summary

INNOVIM is seeking candidates for a senior level website manager role. The Website Manager will oversee the operations of a NASA’s Earth Observation System Data and Information System (EOSDIS) website.

The successful candidate for this position will be involved in continuous coordination between numerous internal and external stakeholders. The position requires an individual who is able to effectively interact within a distributed and heterogeneous community of individuals. The Website Manager will have immediate hands on assignments contributing to the successful continuation of support provided to NASA Earth Science community and providing highly valued results directly to the customer. This position will be located in Riverdale/College Park, Maryland area.

Responsibilities include:

• Develop the site vision and goals with project management
• Oversee and report on the implementation of site vision and goals
• Interact regularly with content providers to coordinate content development and publication
• Ensure website content is consistent in quality, formatting, and terminology utilization
• Manage the website change request life cycle, including ticket disposition, scheduling, testing, deployment and notifications
• Review website metrics to constantly evaluate and improve site utilization
• Propose and coordinates site enhancements to continually improve functionality
• Coordinate with user services team to understand user needs are being identified and addressed
• Coordinate with system administration to ensure proper planning for regular and/or unexpected system maintenance and outages
• Provide weekly status to project management regarding website status and development activities
• Assist in planning and scheduling future development opportunities.

Requirement Skills:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Software or Systems Engineering, Information Systems, Web Development or related field
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to facilitate technical discussions between management and technical staff
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to facilitate discussion and problem resolution within large groups
• Ability to multi-task and handle a fast-paced work environment
• Understanding of web technologies, such as HTML, CSS and PHP.

Desired Skills:

• 2+ years related website management experience with progressively increasing responsibility and direct customer interaction
• Solid understanding of Drupal CMS
• Familiarity with NASA Earth Sciences programs.

EOSDIS is a core capability in NASA’s Earth Science Data Systems Program. EOSDIS provides end-to-end capabilities for managing NASA’s Earth science data from various sources – satellites, aircraft, field measurements, and various other programs. For the EOS satellite missions, EOSDIS provides capabilities for command and control, scheduling, data capture and initial processing. The development and maintenance of the EOSDIS website is led by the NASA EOSDIS Evolution & Development (EED) project.

Other qualifications:

Permission to work in the United States is required; U.S. citizenship is preferred.

All candidates must be able to pass a National Agency Clearance with Inquires (NACI) screening.
