Web Programmer, position no. nws-wp034

WEB PROGRAMMER (all levels): Plans, designs, development, tests, edits, maintains and documents web programs, or assists with those functions. Applies knowledge of programming techniques and computer internet systems. Formulates plans outlining steps required to develop program, using structured analysis and design. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision and guidance. BS/BA degree (or equivalent) plus 0-2 years of experience in related field. Higher-level web programmer positions may require as many as 10 years prior experience.

Additional requirements for higher-level Web Programmer positions may include:

• Working under general supervision
• Increased familiarity with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices and procedures
• Performing a variety of complicated tasks
• Meeting the expectations of a wide degree of creativity and latitude
• Leading and directing the work of others
• Relying on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
• Formulating plan to outline steps required to develop program, using structured analysis and design.
