INNOVIM Awarded GSFC NCCS contract

INNOVIM is developing a Data Management System (DMS) to be hosted at the NASA Center for Computational Sciences (NCCS).  We are leveraging iRODS (Integrated Rule-Oriented Data System) and integrating ISFS  (Invasive Species Forecasting System) components into an operational DMS (Data Management System). The DMS will enable the Earth science community to more easily locate and access the massive amounts of observational and model data hosted at various science data centers.  This data are used for climate and weather studies. The DMS provides a data grid approach to integrated, next-generation Earth science data services for NASA.   A data grid is software that allows for the management, sharing, searching, and distribution of large amounts of distributed observational and model data sets. The DMS will link into a data portal using the Earth System Grid (ESG).  This project is funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
